Like any other object susceptible to dust, these can also be good source of hazardous soot and dirt. Clean the carpets regularly. The carpet attracts dust and dirt so easily. And even with vacuum, there are still soot and dust that remain in the carpet. Make sure that you apply some solutions on these carpets to kill unseen and hard to remove dust and dirt. Dust off the furniture and windows. Furniture pieces also tend to accumulate dust and dirt over the time. If you have allergies to dust, then the more that you need to dust these off regularly. The same applies to window as they are exposed external to the house, they easily accumulate dust.
Deep cleaning should be regularly done. It is the only way to be surely safe against diseases found inside the house.
